Graduate Students
Zoe is a Ph.D. student in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior program at MSU. Her work involves characterizing the intestinal microbiome and resistome in patients with and without enteric infections.
Cole is a Ph.D. student in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and is co-mentored by Dr. Margaret Petroff. His project focuses on characterizing mechanisms of pathogenesis in group B Streptococcus and classifying host responses to infection using mouse models.
Macy is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Her projects involve identifying factors that impact pathogenesis in group B Streptococcus and characterizing probiotic effects of Lactobacillus.
Jose is a D.O./Ph.D. student in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. He is studying antibiotic resistance, epidemiology and genomics of Campylobacter jejuni.
Karla is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG). She is co-mentored by Dr. Lixin Zhang, Ph.D. in the Departments of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and MMG. She is studying antibiotic resistance mechanisms and emergence and is characterizing the bovine intestinal microbiome and resistome.
